Drawing the Photo a Day

Here are my drawings for this week.

I am really enjoying how the daily challenge words are becoming sparks for new projects- like new fabric designs! I am also planning on making some artwork for our walls based on the 'home' and 'path' drawings.

Oh, and speaking of new art for our walls at home, I am working on something for the boys room.... Still a work in progress, but I am pleased with how it is coming along. The boys LOVE it- they think it's very cool that we are ALL super heroes (even the Rosies and Coco!)
B Being Cool will be starting her Draw Me September Challenge next month. I will be playing along! I will also keep drawing the Photo a Day too, I think. You can never have too much DRAWING can you?? Well, maybe you can, but we will see how committed I am and whether I can do 2 challenges at once. I have found this month that I have wanted MORE words to keep me drawing. My obsessive nature has definitely kicked in and I. MUST. DRAW. A lot. :-)

Thanks to Fat Mum Slim for the Photo a Day Challenge. And Super thanks for visiting my blog last week! I still get a little fangirly and star struck when superstar bloggers comment on my blog!

What are you OBSESSED with at the moment?

Drawing the Photo a Day Week 1- Helping me get through.....

I have really enjoyed this new challenge!!! All this drawing, and having a set task each day is really helping me with the process of weaning myself off the anti depressants I have been taking for the last few years. I'm in about week three of the process and it's a little tough some days. Drawing is a great way to calm my mind and help me cope with stress. I am looking forward to being medication free with a sketch book full of kick ass drawings under my arm!!!

Check out the Photo a Day goddess Fat Mum Slim and also B Being Cool who gave me the inspiration for drawing the challenge!!

Do you use art/craft/creativity to deal with stress or depression?

Drawing the Photo a Day

I have tried many times to get into Fat Mum Slim's world famous Photo a Day Challenge. I have the best intentions, then I get sidetracked, I can't take a good photo for the day's word, I am lazy...

BUT! Recently, I discovered Brisbane uber blogger B of B Being Cool had a fantabulous idea! She DRAWS the word of the day! And, because she is awesome, she said I could hitch my wagon to her hand drawn star and join in!

SO, I will be posting a drawing a day on Instagram  and a weekly wrap up of my Photo a Day drawings each Sunday. I know! I can't wait either! :-)

Here is a little sneaky peek.....

Do you do Photo a Day?
