The ones that got away

There were so many lovely things at the Woolloongabba Antique Centre on Saturday.... I could wander around for hours and hours there, lost in the past and the possibilities of new futures for super cute little treasures.... But I came home empty handed on Saturday.  I'm trying to be more selective when adding to our collection of junk fabulousness....

When I was little, I thought that the XXX man was my Grandad. He drank a lot of beer and he had a lot of XXXX memorabilia in his pool room (which was WAAAAAYYYYY better than Darryl Kerrigan's Pool Room) and I figured that the company must have made him their mascot.....

Owl You Need is Love...

My Owl Family is growing. I had a little bit of alone time today, so I wandered around the Chandler Markets. Lots o' crap, lots o' German Sausages and a fair bit of awesomeness. This little owl said he had to come home with me... so I let him.

I love all my boys, the little ones, the medium sized one and the big one, but when I get some time to myself, I really do relish it. Sometimes, I just wanna read a book and drink a coffee.  Sometimes, I want to go to all the places that don't fit a twin pram! And sometimes I just want to have a nap. My Lovely Husband is a legend and tries to take the little boys on adventures on a Saturday, to give me a bit of a break. The last week without him has been exhausting, so it was definitely appreciated today!

The Happiest Place on Earth

My favouritest favourite place in Brisneyland is Woolloongabba Antique Centre. I find it almost impossible to leave there without an owl.. or a piece of glass fruit... or some salt and pepper shakers...

But on Tusday, I managed to just window shop and soak up the atmosphere, as we visited with my lovely parents, my sister and her girls. Such a great place to wander, explore and have a coffee.

And you never know what kooky little arrangements you might find....

English Family

There is the cutest Junk/ Op Shop on Oxford Street in Bulimba. Max and I stopped in the recently and I found these gorgeous hankies commemorating the Royal Visit in 1954.

I don't know why, but I HAD TO HAVE THEM!

The funny lady who owns the show said, 'Are you a royalist, Dear?'

I said, 'No, but I have an English Husband!'

I guess, to me, they show the union of my Lovely Husabnds homeland and mine. His family are incredibly beautiful people. They are so far away. I wish I could go out for a coffee with my Mother-In-Law.. I wish my Father-In-Law could kick a ball with the Twins, I wish I could pop over to my Sister-In-Laws house for a chat... I wish I could have a drink at the Pub with my Brother-In -Law. I wish the Awesome Teenager could hang out with the 3 English Awesome Teenagers. And, Oh my goodness, I wish for my Lovely Husband all of these things and more. He misses them. So much.

I'm gonna put these cute little things in a frame, and they will always remind me to send hugs and love across the sea.

I love Teapots. I don't drink Tea.
I have been collecting Teapots for a few years now. I don't have a million of them, but every single one means something. The ones my Lovely Husband has bought me are the most special. He does say that our house is in danger of looking like a 'Bric a Brac Shop'... and yet he buys me teapots.... kinda like buying a fat kid cake, then trying to send him to Fat Camp.... hee hee.
